The Luxembourg Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, will pay an official visit to Tajikistan from March 3-4.  

He is scheduled to hold talks with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin and President Emomali Rahmon, a source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.  

Mr. Asselborn will discuss with high-raking Tajik state officials state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Republic of Tajikistan.

A special attention will be given to agreements reached during Tajik president’s visits to Luxembourg in 2004 and 2011, the source added.

Jean Asselborn (born April 27, 1949) is a Luxembourgish politician who has served in the government of Luxembourg as Minister for Foreign Affairs since 2004.  He also served as Deputy Prime Minister from 2004 to 2013, under Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker.
