Dushanbe and Seoul are expected to become sister cities. Such an agreement was reportedly reached during a meeting of Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali with visiting South Korea Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon.
According to the Dushanbe Administration press center, the meeting took place at the country residence of the Tajik Government yesterday, July 16.
In the course of the talks, Emomali and Lee reportedly discussed ways to boost cooperation between the capital cities of the two countries and expressed interest in launching joint ventures in sectors such as processing of raw materials, modern technologies, light industry, etc.
For the purpose of expanding fruitful cooperation, the two sides proposed to establish sister city relations between Dushanbe and Seoul, the Dushanbe Administration press center said.
An agreement on establishing the sister city relations between the two cities is expected to be signed in the near future.
