As part of his working trip to the Al-Qassim Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tajik Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Akram Karimi on January 4 met with the Governor of Al-Qassim Province, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia in sectors like agriculture, trade and investment.

The parties also considered it expedient to use the opportunities of the two countries for the establishment of cooperation in the field of tourism.

During this working visit, the Ambassador reportedly also met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Al-Qassim Province Muhammad Al-Hanaya and the Chairman of the Committee of Economic Development and Investment Dr. Yosuf Al-Oraini.

Meanwhile, Saudi news agency SPA says that during the meeting, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz  and Tajik Ambassador Akram Karimi exchanged cordial talks and discussed topics of common interest.

The Prince reportedly praised relations between the two countries witnessing continuous growth in various fields.

The Qassim Province, also known as the Qassim Region, and officially the Emirate of Al-Qassim Province, is one of the 13 provinces of Saudi Arabia.  Located at the heart of the country near the geographic center of the Arabian Peninsula, it is known to be the "alimental basket" of the country, for its agricultural assets.  Al-Qassim is the richest region per capita in Saudi Arabia.
