Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Turkey on Saturday (June 19) on the sidelines Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2021 which took place in Antalya, Turkey on June 18-20.
The issues of expansion of bilateral political, trade, economic and cultural relations between Tajikistan and Iran were discussed at the meeting, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
It was reportedly also stressed the need to implement the agreements reached at the 14th session of the Tajik-Iranian Joint Commission, which took place in Dushanbe on June 7-8, 2021.
On the same day, Muhirddin met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Muhammad Haneef Atmar in Antalya.
The two reportedly exchanged views on current situation and perspective of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as on the situation in Afghanistan, regional cooperation in the process of establishing peace and stability Afghanistan, the implementation of regional projects, especially in the fields of energy, infrastructure and transport with the support of international and regional organizations and international financial institutions.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Turkey, the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, was held in Antalya under the auspices of President Recep of Turkey Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is likely to be one of the first big face-to-face international meetings since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is an annual gathering of officials, politicians, bureaucrats, diplomats, academics, business people, media and opinion-makers to discuss and find solutions to current regional and global issues.
