Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon delivered a keynote address during the working dinner of the Second Central Asia–United States (C5+1) Summit in Washington on November 6, emphasizing the need to deepen regional cooperation with the United States, particularly in economic and energy sectors.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon began his remarks by thanking U.S. President Donald Trump for the invitation and warm hospitality, and outlined a vision for stronger multilateral ties between Tajikistan, the Central Asian region, and the United States.

He reportedly underlined that peace, stability, and sustainable security are “the fundamental basis for all economic and trade relations,” stressing that these pillars are essential for fostering long-term development and international collaboration.

A major focus of President Rahmon’s speech was economic engagement. He called for increased trade turnover and foreign investment in key sectors of Tajikistan’s economy. Highlighting the country’s vast hydropower potential and strategic geographic location, Rahmon reiterated Tajikistan’s readiness to expand cooperation in the “green energy” sector, particularly in renewable energy generation and cross-border electricity transmission.

The Tajik leader emphasized the government’s priority to develop various branches of industry and increase the share of electricity generated from renewable sources. He expressed keen interest in strengthening collaboration with international partners in both the industrial and energy sectors.

Rahmon also identified mineral extraction and processing as promising areas for foreign investment, underscoring their potential to drive economic growth.

Concluding his address, President Rahmon noted that Tajikistan’s economic potential positions it to play a vital role in enhancing sustainable production and regional trade networks through broader cooperation and partnerships.
