DUSHANBE , April 24, Asia -Plus - Members of the Majlisi Milli ( Tajikistan ’s upper chamber of parliament) have approved 10 laws adopted by the Majlisi Namoyandagon (lower chamber of Tajik parliament).

A sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Milli presided over by its Speaker Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev was held on April 21. 

Members of the upper chamber of Tajik parliament considered and endorsed laws “On Naming of Geographical Objects”, “On Registry” as well as amendments to Tajikistan ’s Civil, Labor and Family Codes as well as some present laws.   

The fifth session of the Majlisi Milli also elected judges of the Supreme Court and a judge of the Higher Economic Court upon recommendation of the president.  Bakhtullo Rahmatulloyev, who had previously headed court in Rushan district of Gorno Badakhshan, and Salomat Hakimova, ho had previously been judge at a court on Khujand, were elected judges of the Supreme Court and Fayzali Nozilov, who had previously been deputy head of a court in the Firdavsi district of Dushanbe, was elected judge of the Higher Economic Court.

The Majlisi Milli also recalled Azizmamad Chorshanbiyev from the post of judge of the Supreme Court and Turakhon Sobirov from the post of judge of the Higher Economic Court at their own requests.

The session also endorsed a plan of actions for implementation the president’s address to the parliament.
