DUSHANBE, July 21, Asia-Plus -- Members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) have approved 13 laws adopted by the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) this year. 

The sixth session of the Majlisi Milli presided over by its head Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev was held on July 20.  

The Majlisi Milli, in particular, seconded the RT Laws “On Symbols of the President”, “On Inspection of Activity of Economic Entities”, “On Evaluation Activity”, “On Grain”, “On Competition and Limitation of Monopolistic Activity on the Commodity Markets”, “On Amendments Made to “On Weapons”, etc.  

In comments made on amendments made to the RT Law “On Weapons”, Mr. Mahkam Mahmudov, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Committee on the Constitution and Human Rights, has noted that the law prohibits use of weapons against women, disabled people, persons crossing the national border inadvertently, if their actions do not pose direct danger. “Besides, under the amendments made to the law persons having violated the rule of use of weapon may be deprived of the right to possess and use it”  

Mahmadsharif Tolibov, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Committee on Agriculture, Employment, and Ecology, presenting amendments made to the country’s Land Code noted that now fines collected for violation of use of land would used only for the purpose of improving state of lands.  

Mr. Tolibov also noted that under amendments made to the country’s law “On Personal Plots” six-month and annual reports on activities of such farms would be submitted to the self-government bodies.
