DUSHANBE, November 27, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmonov has dismissed Governor of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (Gorno Badakhshan or GBAO).
Presidential press service said that by president’s decree of November 25 Qodir Qosimov was appointed acting Chairman of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region, replacing Alimamad Niyozmamadov. Qodir Qosimov had previously been Deputy Agriculture Minister.
Alimamad Niyozmamadov was retired for age reasons, according to presidential press service.
