DUSHANBE, December 1, Asia-Plus - Head of President’s Executive Office Mahmadnazar Solehov, has been appointed Minister of Interiors, replacing Khumdin Sharipov in this post, according to Ministry of Interior (MoI). Khumdin Sharipov had headed the ministry since 1996.
The ministries of agriculture and labor have also been reshuffled.
According to Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Shukurjon Zuhurov, deputy of the Majlisi Namaoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) was appointed Minister of Labor and Social Security, replacing Zokir Vazirov in this post. Under president’s edict on reorganization of the government structure some duties of the ministry of labor and social security were folded into other ministries. The migration service was transferred to the ministry of interior and the vocational education department to the ministry of education.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Abdurahim Qodirov was appointed Minister of Agriculture. He replaced Voris Madaminov in this post. Qodirov had previously been chairman of Zafarobod district in Sughd.
Besides, Masaid Homidov, who had previously been First Deputy Dushanbe Mayor, was appointed Minister of Land recalmation and Water Resources, preplacing Abduqohir Nazirov in this post.
Bakhtiyor Khudoyorov has been appointed Minister of Justice, replacing Khalifabobo Homidov in this post, who had headed the ministry since 2001.
Bakhtiyor Khudoyorov had previously been head of the constitutional guarantees and citizens rights department at president’s executive office.
