DUSHANBE, January 4, Asia-Plus -- By government’s resolutions of December 28 new deputy ministers for energy and industry were appointed. The appointments have followed a cabinet shakeup in the wake of President Rahmonov’s reelection.
A source at the Ministry of Energy and Industry (MoEI) said that practically all senior officials with the abolished ministries of energy and industry had retained their positions.
Pulod Muhiddinov, formerly first deputy energy minister, was appointed as the first deputy minister.
Former deputy energy ministers Akram Sulaimonov and Zarobiddin Fayzulloyev were appointed deputy ministers.
Mahmadsharif Haqdodov, who had previously been first deputy industry minister, was appointed as the deputy minister for industry.
The ministries of energy and industry were abolished by president’s decree of November 30 and their duties were transferred to the new ministry of energy and industry. Former head of the state committee for management of state-owned property Sherali Gulov was appointed to head the new ministry.
