DUSHANBE, February 7, Asia-Plus - Ramazon Rahimov, formerly deputy interior minister, has been appointed as head of the Migration Service at the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
As it had been reported earlier, as a result of drastic government reorganization ordered by President Rahmonov last November the Labor Ministry’s duty on resolving migration problems folded into a MoI.
A source at the MoI said that the department for visas and registration had been transferred to jurisdiction of this service.
Besides, interior minister in early February signed resolutions shaking up the MoI senior officials.
Rajabali Mahmadali, formerly chief inspector with the MoI department for combating organized crime, has been appointed to head this department. He replaced Mahmadsaid Juraqulov in this position.
Rahmatullo Nazarov has replaced Jurakhon Zohirov as chief of Tajikistan’s transportation police. Nazarov had previously been head of special unit at the MoI department for combating organized crime.
Muhammadi Muhammadiyev has been appointed to head the MoI investigation department.
