DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmonov presided over a meeting with participation of prime minister, head of president’s office as well as a number of ministers and members of government on February 12.
According to presidential press service, the meeting considered issues related to the results of Rahmonov’s visit to Egypt and Syria, a progress of work on mitigation of effects of the accident on the Pamir-1 hydropower plant and rehabilitation of the plant, preparation for spring sowing campaign, etc.
During the meeting it was noted that the government had enlisted services of the country’s best specialists to the rehabilitation of the Pamir-1 and one of the station’s generators is expected to have been put into operation by March 10. “To compensate shortage of electricity the GBAO authorities are taking measures to increase capacities of the Khorog hydropower plant,” Abdufattoh Sharipov, a spokesman for the president said.
Head of state demanded at the meeting that adequate measures should be taken to rehabilitate the Pamir-1 as soon as possible.
