DUSHANBE, February 21, Asia-Plus - Issues of developing gardening and wine-growing were discussed at a meeting of President Emomali Rahmonov with senior representatives from agrarian sector in Dushanbe on February 20.
According to presidential press service, they reported on a progress of the implementation of president’s instructions and government’s resolutions on those issues.
During the meeting it was noted that 2,972,000 seedlings were planted in Tajikistan from November 2006 to February 1, 2007.
“Heads of relevant structures reported that they had to date prepared another 7,128,000 seedlings of grapes and various decorative and fruit trees,” the source said, noting that 10 million trees should be planted this year.
Rahmonov expressed dissatisfaction with improper progress of work on development of gardening and wine-growing and set tasks on removing existing shortcomings.
