DUSHANBE, May 8, Asia-Plus - President Emomali Rahmon heading a high-ranking delegation left Qatar to Iran Monday afternoon.
At the Tehran airport, he was welcomed by Iran’s Minister of Sciences, Research and Technology Mohammad Zahedi.
Ministers of foreign affairs, finance, economy development and trade, transport and communications, energy and industries, president advisers and other officials are accompanying him on this trip.
Tuesday morning, Rahmon is meeting with his Iranian counterpart, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
During his three-day stay in Iran, Emomali Rahmon is also scheduled to meet with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Majlis Speaker Haddad-Adel, Chairman of Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
Iran’s news agency Irna reports that considering Iranian companies success in implementing economic projects in Tajikistan, President Rahmon will probably present some new proposals concerning construction of a new tunnel as well as power plants in Tajikistan.
Iran and Tajikistan have signed 150 cooperation documents in different sections of politics, culture, economics and defense since 15 years ago.
