DUSHANBE, May 8, Asia-Plus - The first Tajik-Qatari business meeting was held in Doha on May 7.
President Emomali Rahmon addressing the meeting noted that foundation of bilateral and regional cooperation between Tajikistan and Qatar had been laid during his visit, presidential press service said. President Rahmon noted that Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani had accepted his invitation to visit Tajikistan in the near future.
“President Rahmon noted that Tajikistan is rich in natural resources (water, fertile land, gold, silver, precious stones, aluminum, cotton, wool, fruits and vegetables) and has cheap energy, modern infrastructure, skilled personnel and legal foundation as well as other factors meeting requirements of mutually beneficial cooperation practically in all sectors,” presidential press service said.
According to presidential press service, the forum focused on the construction of roads, tunnels, water supply systems, power-transmission lines, development of tourism and extraction of oil and natural gas in Tajikistan.
