DUSHANBE, May 14, Asia-Plus - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has received the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Ambassador Rolf Ekeus, who arrived in Tajikistan for a two-day visit today morning.
According to Tajik MFA, during his stay in Tajikistan, Ambassador Ekeus is also scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Social Development Matters and Public Relations Karomatullo Olimov, and Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov, as well as visit the northern province of Sughd.
The Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities was established in 1992 to identify and seek early resolution of ethnic tensions that might endanger peace, stability or friendly relations between OSCE participating States.
