DUSHANBE, June 6, Asia-Plus -- The lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of the Tajik parliament has approved a new Constitutional Law “On the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO or Gorno Badakhshan).”
A regular sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon presided by its chairman, Saydullo Khairulloyev, was held on June 6.
The source at the Majlisi Namoyandagon said that adoption of the GBAO law is connected with changes that had taken place in socioeconomic life of the country as well as amendments having been made to the country’s legislation over the past several years.
The deputies also considered and endorsed a new law on organ transplantation as well as amendments to the laws on state secret, employment, veterinary medicine, state regulation of providing fertility of farmlands, food security, pensions, preservation and use of flora, biological security, ecological examination, certification of products and services, state finances, national budget for 2007, etc.
