DUSHANBE, July 17, Asia-Plus — On Monday July 16, Karomatullo Olimov, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Social Matters, was elected to head the Institute of Philosophy and Law at Tajik Academy of Sciences, and Sharofiddin Imomov, Senior Adviser to the Tajik President for International Matters, was elected as Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage at Tajik Academy of Sciences, Asia-plus has learned from Mamadyor Mamadnazarov, Aide to Academy of Sciences President.
According to him, in the Institute of Philosophy and Law, Karomatullo Olimov ran unopposed, while in the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage, Sharofiddin Imomov competed for the post of director with the incumbent director Jurabek Nazriyev, who lost the election.
In the meantime, presidential press service has neither confirmed nor denied this information.
