DUSHANBE, July 23, Asia-Plus — Addressing a July 21 ceremonial meeting dedicated to a Day of Language, President Emomali Rahmon noted that development of state status of the Tajik language is one of achievements of Tajikistan’s sovereignty.
The head of state charged the Institute of Tajik Language and Literature and other research institutes as well as educational and cultural facilities to take measure to put terminology and grammar of the modern Tajik literary language in good order, and publish methodical supplies and dictionaries.
The head of state also pointed to the necessity of publishing more materials in media in the Tajik language.
Rahmon proposed to announce the year of 2008 a Year of Tajik Language. He also charged the research institutes to publish the reedited two-volume explanatory dictionary of the Tajik language by September this year.
The meeting participants included representatives from the government, ministries, researchers, lecturers and students. The meeting ended with festive concert.
