DUSHANBE, August 7, Asia-Plus — Issues related to preparation of Dushanbe for hosting the upcoming summits of the CIS, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) were discussed at an August 6 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office presided over by its head Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, told Asia-Plus that Ubaidulloyev had demanded at the meeting that relevant municipal bodies should arrange a formal acceptance of all facilities located along the protocol roads.  Of 300 facilities located along the protocol roads, 82 are the republic-owned, 159 municipal and 59 private facilities, the spokesman said.  According to him, renovation of all these facilities should have been finished by the date the summits start.

On the construction of new facilities by means of investment projects, the mayor expressed concern about low paces of construction of the hotel and trade center at the Ayni Street and 16-story residential buildings at the Saadi Sherozi Avenue, according to Saidov.

At the same time, Ubaidulloyev hailed a good progress of construction of a world-class hotel at the Ismoili Somoni Avenue.

During the meeting it was noted that after decrease in prices of meat, the provision of the city markets with meat had deteriorated and quality of meat being sold on the markets does not meet requirements.

The capital mayor’s office called on farmers and entrepreneurs dealing with delivery of meat to the city to take into account the situation having formed in the city.  The mayor’s office also ordered to conduct an opinion poll among the Dushanbe residents via Asia-Plus and Vatan radio stations.
