DUSHANBE, October 1, Asia-Plus -- Physical entities funding construction of schools or school classes have been exempted from paying taxes this year.

A bill on addition on this subject to the RT Law “On the National Budget for 2007” was considered and endorsed at an October 1 sitting of the fourth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation presided over by its chairman Saydullo Khairulloyev.  

Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov presenting the bill noted that this year, 13 persons have funded construction of schools or classes to accommodate totaling 2,100 pupils in various regions of the country.  

The Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker Saydullo Khairulloyev and MP Shodi Shabdolov, who is also leader of Tajik Communists, assessed the bill positive and suggested that in future, physical entities should remit money to the account of the Ministry of Education (MoE) and it would build schools under standard designs.  

Parliamentarians endorsed the bill by the majority of votes (57 against 1).  

The session also endorsed the bill on social service and amendments to the laws on social protection of disabled people and subsoil as well as the forest code.  

Besides, parliamentarians also ratified an agreement on friendship and cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan, Tajik-Azeri intergovernmental agreement on mutual protection of investments, government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan on protection of investments, as well as Tajik-Turkish agreement on partnership and cooperation, and Tajik-Czech convention on avoiding dual taxation.
