DUSHANBE, October 2, Asia-Plus -- On Monday October 1, President Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of congratulations to his Chinese counterpart, President Hu Jintao, over the 58th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, presidential press service said.  

In the message, President Rahmon stressed that Tajikistan attaches important significance to its bilateral relations with China and highly appraises the high level of many-sided cooperation that has been reached over the past several years.  Tajikistan intends to make every effort to strengthen its cooperation with China, the Tajik head of state said.     

`Rahmon also expressed hope that signing of an agreement on neighborliness, friendship and cooperation, as well as beginning of joint implementation of a number of large-scale projects in Tajikistan will lay a good foundation of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.  

China is the world''s most populous country, with a continuous culture stretching back nearly 4,000 years.
