DUSHANBE, October 5, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon today met with his Azeri counterpart, President Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in Dushanbe to take part at a CIS summit, CIS summit’s press service said.
In the course of the talks the two discussed a broad range of issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Tajik and Azeri leaders expressed satisfaction with results of mutual visits that had been paid this year and exchanged views on a progress of implementation of the signed documents.
The sides expressed confidence that political and legal foundations laid during the mutual visits would yield necessary results and promote further expansion of many-sided cooperation between the two countries. Both sides vowed to boost bilateral trade, which currently did not correspondent to its real potential.
Rahmon and Aliyev also exchanged views on the upcoming CIS summit and issues related to regional and international security.
