DUSHANBE, October 27, Asia-Plus -- Dushanbe mayor’s office gave a news conference on October 26 to report on city’s economic results in January-September 2007.
Speaking to journalists the deputy capital mayor, Rustam Rahmatov, said that Dushanbe has produced a total of 281.1 million somonis worth of industrial goods over the report period, which is 60.7 million somonis more than in the same period of 2006.
“Of the 78 basic types of industrial products the output of 42 items has increased,” said the deputy mayor, “As a whole, the city’s industrial sector development has shown an upward tendency.”
On the housing construction, Rahmatov said that they have built housing with an overall space of 30,211.2 square meters over the same nine-month period, which is 5,804.2 square meters more than in the same period of last year.
Another deputy mayor, Jamshed Mansourov, reported on preparations for winter. According to him, it has been decided to provide regular natural-gas supplies to the population this year.
The Dushanbe mayor’s office has also stocked up 364 tons of coal and 351.6 cubic meters of firewood for autumn-winter 2007-2008.
In the meantime, the natural-gas debts of the Dushanbe for January-September 2007 have amounted to 27 million somonis and the rate of collection of funds for natural-gas consumption has been very low – only 21 percent. Therefore, natural-gas supplies have been cut off to 22,000 apartments in Dushanbe.
