DUSHANBE, November 12, Asia-Plus -- Allotment of lands in Dushanbe’s Khovaron (Eastern Hills) area for housing started on November 11, Asia-Plus has learned from Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor.
Geological surveys have been conducted in the Khovaron area with participation of local and foreign research institutes and a total area of 61.2 hectares is supposed to be allotted for housing in the Khovaron area, the spokesman said.
A special public commission has been set up to insure fair and transparent allotment of lands in Khovaron. The public commission include representatives from the Dushanbe media.
“On November 11, 70 families received 0.3 hectares of lands in Khovaron each,” Saidov said, adding that the Dushanbe prosecutor’s office is to inspect a process of allotment of lands and report on this subject to the mayor’s office on Wednesdays.
