DUSHANBE, November 15, Asia-Plus  -- On Wednesday November 14, President Emomali Rahmon who is currently on his working visit to the Sughd province, attended a ceremony of an official opening of a new cement plant in the Bobojonghafurov district, presidential press service said.  

The plant constructed by private company Amon has the capacity of producing 100 tons of cement per day. 

The plant was constructed in 10 months and 2.7 million somonis were spent for implementation of this project.   

Speaking at inaugural ceremony, Rahmon termed construction of the plant as one of example of workmanship because the country’s requirements in cement are increasing year in.   

“The project has created 80 new jobs and when the plant works in full capacity, 150 people will work with it,” the president said.

Reminding that the government is creating conditions necessary for attracting foreign investments, the head of state noted that another cement plant with capacity of 80,000 tons of cement per year will be introduced into operation in Isfara soon.    

President Rahmon arrived in Sughd to attend festivities to mark the 15th anniversary of the 16th session of Tajikistan’s Supreme Council (Shuroi Oli) of the 12th convocation.
