DUSHANBE, December 13, Asia-Plus -- On Wednesday December 12, President Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with participation of senior representatives from president’s office and a number ministries and organizations to discuss the results of his recent visit to Turkmenistan as well as issues related to administration of the 2007 budget, tackling cotton sector problems and preparations for the spring sowing campaign, presidential press service said.
The meeting also discussed preparations for holding Days of Tajik Culture in Turkmenistan and the upcoming meeting of the president with Tajik entrepreneurs scheduled for December 24.
The meeting also considered Tajikistan’s economic results in 2007.
The head of state set specific tasks on making shift to a new mechanism of financing the cotton sector, ensuring fulfillment of this year’s budget, providing adequate conditions or development small and medium-sized enterprises in the country, and increasing quantity of small loans provided to enterprises.
The president also charged the Ministry of Culture and other relevant organizations to prepare a program of Days of Tajik Culture in Turkmenistan that would be held in Ashgabat next September.
