KHUJAND, March 19, Asia-Plus  -- President Emomali Rahmon is expected to attend the events to celebrate Navrouz that will be held in the Sughd province. 

Ilhom Jamoliyon, the head of the information-analytical department within the Sughd regional government, told Asia-Plus that the head of state is scheduled to visit the province on March 20-21. 

During his stay in Khujand, Emomali Rahmon will visit the site for construction of presidential lyceum and attend in groundbreaking ceremony for construction of three multistory residential buildings in microrayon (residential entity) # 8.   

After that the president and persons accompanying him will go to the Samgar settlement, where they will take part in hashar (Tajikistan’s tradition of people’s participation and inclusion in the community wellbeing, whereby members of one or more communities join hands and work voluntarily for the benefit of the whole community).  A national park is supposed to be laid out on 120 hectares in Samgar, Jamoliyon said. 

According to him, known Tajik artistes, poets, writers, painters and journalists will accompany the president on his visit to northern Tajikistan.
