DUSHANBE, March 28, Asia-Plus - Issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and the World Bank were discussed yesterday at a meeting of President Emomali Rahmon with visiting World Bank Vice-President Shigeo Katzu, presidential press service said.
In the course of the talks Rahmon and Katzu, in particular, discussed the present macroeconomic situation in Tajikistan, coordination of actions with international financial institutions and donor countries on resolution of farmers’ cotton debts and implementation of energy projects in Tajikistan.
Issues related to speeding up preparation of feasibility study for completing the construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power station as well as rehabilitation and modernization of hydropower plants, construction of heat power plants working on coal and creation of regional electric power market were among major topics of the meeting, presidential press service said.
The two also exchanged views on global socioeconomic processes, their impact on economies of separate countries and ways of protection of consumer market.
