QURGHON TEPPA, March 31, Asia-Plus - On Saturday March 29, a session of the Khatlon regional legislature (Majlis) disaffirmed a March 28 resolution of the Muminobod district legislature on rejecting again solicitation of the Khatlon regional prosecutor’s office for repealing inviolability of its member Sadullo Rahimov, who is charged with killing and polygamy.
Speaking at the session, Ghaybullo Avzalov, the Khatlon governor also the head of the Khatlon regional legislature, noted that they should protect law but not criminal. According to him, this issue will be returned to the Muminobod district legislature for reconsideration.
He noted that the Khatlon regional prosecutor’s office intends to apply to the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) with solicitation to dissolve the Muminobod legislature. According to him, the regional prosecutor’s office has also asked the regional legislature to discuss actions of heads of the Muminobod district legislature.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Alfattoh Roziqov, the deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob region, said that it is already the fifth rejection since 1996.
