DUSHANBE, April 16, Asia-Plus -- Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov today morning went to Khatlon’s Yovon district to familiarize himself with the present energy situation in the district, presidential press service said.
During his stay in the district, the prime minister will visit the Yovon heat and power plant, which was reintroduced into operation on December 22, 2007 after being closed for 22 years.
The Tajik head of state ordered to increase the plant’s capacity to 120 megawatt, and the prime minister will familiarize himself with a progress of work on increasing the plant’s capacity, according to presidential press service.
Besides, Oqilov will hold a meeting with participation of local administrators and a number of ministers in Yovon.
A group of senior representatives from relevant ministries, president’s office as well as the Barqi Tojik power holding head Sharifkhon Samiyev are accompanying the prime minister on his trip to Yovon.
