DUSHANBE, April 21, Asia-Plus -- A progress of construction of various facilities, funded by foreign investors, was a focus of an April 21 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, presided over by its head Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that senior representatives of companies constructing the mentioned facilities – Business center with hotel at the Ayni Street and five-star hotel at the Ismoili Somoni Avenue (Russia’s limited liability company Sozidaniye), five-star Dushanbe-Serena Hotel and Ismaili Center (Aga Khan Foundation in Tajikistan), hotel complex with commercial center at the Ayni Street (India’s CHL International), residential complex at the Saadi Sherozi Street (JV Savtekhnik (phonetically spelled) International, Iran), and residential complex Poytakht-80 (Russia’s limited liability company Zhilkapinvest) -- had taken part at the meeting.
Positively assessing a progress of construction of facilities funded by Russia’s Sozidaniye, the mayor expressed concern about the slow pace of construction of facilities funded by the Aga Khan Foundation and demanded at the meeting that work on construction of them should be speeded up.
On delays in construction of the hotel with commercial center at the Ayni Street, the mayor told representatives of CHL International that if the construction work is not organized at the proper level within two weeks, agreements that had been concluded on construction before will be annulled, and the municipal authorities will sell the mentioned facility as half-finished “in order that a new owner would finish it,” the spokesman said.
