DUSHANBE, April 25, Asia-Plus  -- “Tajikistan maintains mutually beneficial relations with all countries, President Emomali said during an address to a joint session of parliament, while outlining main directions of the country’s foreign policy.  

He stressed the topicality and importance of fight against drug trafficking, terrorism, extremism and separatism that are gaining ever larger scale.  

On relations of Tajikistan with foreign countries, the president noted that Tajikistan will continue expanding cooperation with Russia, China, Central Asia’s states, and member nations of the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) both in bilateral and multilateral formats.  

Concerning relations with other countries of the world, including counties of the Islamic world, he marked out, first of all, Iran and Afghanistan.

“Tajikistan remains supporter of the fight against terrorism,” Rahmon stressed, adding that Tajikistan will continue cooperation with the United States, the European Union member nations and other countries in this direction.

He also underlined the importance of participation of Tajikistan in international organizations such as the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
