DUSHANBE, June 4, Asia-Plus -- MPs have endorsed bill requiring amendments to the country’s law on military personnel pensions and retirement income security. The amendments set the maximum pension rate for military personnel.
A regular sitting of the fourth of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of the third convocation, presided over by its speaker, Saydullo Khairulloyev, was held on June 4.
The session also approved amendments made to the law on legal status of military personnel. The amendments are connected with the next stage of wage reforms carried out in the country.
Presenting the amendments, MP Mirzobek Hojiyev said that the amendments stipulate providing military personnel with interest-free loans for hosing. The loans are provided for the period of twenty years.
Besides, in the event of retirement before the appointed time in connection with service-related illness, serviceman serving on a contractual basis is provided an extraordinary grant in an amount of 12-month money allowances and conscript is provided with extraordinary grant in an amount of 12 minimum monthly wages.
In the event of the death of serviceman, his family is provided with the extraordinary grant in an amount of 80-month money allowances instead of 10-year wages determined by the effective law on legal status of military personnel, and in event of severe injury, military personnel is provided with the extraordinary grant in an mount of his 40 monthly wages instead of 5-year wages determined by the effective law.
Similar amendments were also made to the country’s law on police, presented by MP Abdusattor Rajabov.
