DUSHANBE, June 19, Asia-Plus - The Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Economics, Budget, Finance and Taxes considered a draft prognosis of main directions of Tajikistan’s financial policy for 2008 at a June 18 meeting, presided by its chairman, Ubayullo Davlatov.
During the meeting, it as noted that the draft prognosis, based on the country’s law on the national bank, is dedicated to promote the implementation of the national development strategy and determines the main points of Tajikistan’s financial policy.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that speaking at the meeting, the Tajik central bank head Sharif Rahimzoda had briefed those present on the macroeconomic indictors for 2007, including GDP, inflation local currency exchange rate, etc.
Members of other committees of the Majlisi Namoyandagon attended the meeting as well and the draft prognosis was recommended to be tabled on the agenda of the next sitting of the fourth session of the lower house, the spokesman said.
