DUSHANBE, July 12, 2008, Asia-Plus  -- On Friday July 11, President Emomali Rahmon visited Tursunzoda, Shahrinav and Hissor districts.

The purpose of the visit was for the president to get acquainted with socioeconomic situation in those districts, according presidential press service.  

In the Tursunzoda district, the president visited the farming unit Haqiqat to familiarize himself with the grain-harvesting campaign.  The president noted that wheat yields on the irrigated areas should be not less than 5 tons per hectare.  

            During his stay in the city of Tursunzoda, Rahmon inaugurated a new 50-apartment residential building constructed at the expense of Tajik Aluminum Company (Talco) and attended the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a 100-apartment residential building, which is expected to be finished in September 2009.  

            The head of state also inaugurated presidential lyceum for gifted children in Tursunzoda.  This educational facility to accommodate 320 pupils was constructed under financial support of a London-based firm Alaska Metals, which is partner of Talco, presidential press service noted.  In all, 8.5 million somonis have been spent for construction of the lyceum.   

Besides, the central stadium Metallurg, shopping center Muzhdai Vasl and teahouse Regar were officially opened in Tursunzoda on July 11.

The majority of facilities in the cities and districts of the Hissor Valley are being constructed under financial support of Talco, which also provides support to many industrial enterprises in the country, presidential press service said.
