DUSHANBE, August 15, 2008, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon yesterday sent a telegram of congratulations to his Pakistan counterpart, President Pervez Musharraf, on occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, according to presidential press service.
In his message, Rahmon, in particular, noted that Tajikistan attaches significant importance to expansion of bilateral cooperation with Pakistan. “I am sure bilateral relations between our countries will develop in future as well,” the telegram said.
Pakistan is one of the biggest Muslim states in the world today. The country emerged out of the Indian sub-continent on the map of the world in 1947. The country has a majority of Muslim population. Pakistan celebrates its independence on August 14 every year.
