President Emomali Rahmon today morning handed over keys to new apartments in Dushanbe’s Mehrobod neighborhood (former Kalinin Settlement) to 60 officers of the National Guard of Tajikistan, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
17 million somoni were reportedly spent for construction of that apartment building in the Mehrobod neighborhood.
The National Guard, formerly called the Brigade of Special Mission and Presidential Guard, is the national guard of Tajikistan, under direct command of the President of Tajikistan. They share a similar task with the Tajik Internal Troops. Their primary task is ensuring public safety and security.
Today, President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali also attended an official commissioning ceremony for a new building of School # 26 in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district. The school will accommodate 1,280 pupils in two shifts, the president’s official website said.
