President Emomali Rahmon has convened a meeting in Dushanbe of senior police and security officials to discuss efforts to provide security, ensure supremacy of law and combat organized crime and drug trafficking, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
A meeting of the Security Council, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, took place on December 19.
The meeting members reportedly included senior representatives of the country’s power-wielding structures.
Prosecutor-General Yusuf Rahmon, Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda, Director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Sulaymon Sultonozda, Head of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Saymumin Yatimov, Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo, Border Troops Commander Rajabali Rahmonali, National Guard Commander Bobojon Jamolzoda, Drug Control Agency Director Sherkhon Salimzoda and Head of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Rustam Nazarzoda reported on the results of the past year’s work.
Emomali Rahmon noted at the meeting that addressing global challenge and threats remains the main task of the country’s power-wielding structures.
The head of state reportedly also ordered to remove the existing shortcomings in the shortest possible time.
