New governor of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), Yodgor Fayzov, has called on Pamiris living abroad to support development of the region with their knowledge and abilities.

“The region needs support of its children, those who being outside GBAO managed to use their knowledge and abilities and achieved great success,” Fayzov said in his appeal that was posted on Facebook page of Gholib Niyatbekov, a spokesman for GBAO governor.  

“Today, the Government is taking measures to accelerate the socioeconomic development of the region, roads are being rehabilitated, construction of residential buildings and social facilities is under way and tenders have been announced for development of large mineral deposits located in the region that will create hundreds of new jobs,” the governor says in his appeal.  

“However, the region needs support of its children those who being outside the GBAO managed to use their knowledge and abilities and achieved great success,” Fayzov said, calling on them to take an active part in the destiny of the region and use their opportunities to promote “development of villages where were born and grew up and support implementation of socioeconomic, cultural and educational program and attract additional financing.”
