Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali will pay a two-day working to Tashkent from December 3-4, a reliable source within the Dushanbe administration told Asia-Plus in an interview.  It will be the first foreign visit Rustam Emomali will pay as mayor of the Tajik capital.

While in Tashkent, Rustam Emomali will hold talks with Tashkent Mayor Jahongir Artykkhojayev to discuss the process of implementation of an agreement signed between Dushanbe and Tashkent administrations during Uzbek president’s state visit to Tajikistan in March last year, the source said.

According to him, Rustam Emomali and Jahongir Artykkhojayev will discuss issues related to economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Dushanbe and Tashkent.

The mayors are expected to approve the program of cooperation between the two capitals for 2020.  By president’s decree Rustam Emomali was appointed Mayor of Dushanbe in January 2017.
