President Emomali Rahmon has inaugurated a number of social and economic facilities and participated in groundbreaking ceremonies for construction of other facilities in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), according to the Tajik president’s official website.
Today, Emomali Rahmon, in particular, participated in an official opening ceremony of the Nigini Khorugh shopping mall, which was constructed by local entrepreneur Aidibek Bekmurodi.
The shopping mall reportedly created 70 new jobs for local residents.
After participation in the opening ceremony of the shopping mall, Rahmon reportedly held a meeting with orphans and vulnerable people from Khorog as well as Murgab, Ishkashim, Shugnan and Roshtqala districts. The head of state handed over presents to more than 100 orphans, children with disability and vulnerable people.
After that, Emomali Rahmon visited the exhibition of agricultural goods in Khorog.
Yesterday, the head of state also participated in an opening ceremony of the Bahori Ishq garment factory, which was constructed by local entrepreneur Muqarabsho Noibshoyev.
At the first stage, the factory reportedly created 50 new jobs for local women. The factory mainly sews school uniforms.
Emomali Rahmon also inaugurated a new building of the branch of Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) in Khorog yesterday.
Today, the head of state inaugurated the National Emblem Square in Khorog.
Besides, Emomali Rahmon today participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a 200-meter road bridge with load capacity of 100 tons across the Ghund River in Khorog.
Today, the president also inaugurated the new building of the GBAO Regional Theater named after Mehrubon Nazarov.
