A new presidential residence is set to be built in Khujand, the capital of Sughd province, replacing the current residence of the President of Tajikistan, which will be demolished.  The new complex will be located on the same site, according to the press center of the Sughd regional administration.

An official source within the Sughd reginal administration says Sughd Governor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda recently discussed the project for the new residence with construction professionals, designers, and architects.

The preliminary design reportedly includes both small and large halls for hosting regional and international events, bilateral and multilateral meetings, as well as a hotel and other necessary infrastructure.

After reviewing the proposed project, Ahmadzoda gave specific instructions to officials regarding the refinement of the buildings under construction, the terrace, and surrounding structures, with a focus on incorporating elements of national architecture, the source added.

The press service reportedly released the design of the future building.  However, details about the start of construction, the size of the project, and funding sources have not yet been disclosed.
