A new border commandant's office was commissioned in the Rushan district of GBAO. The opening was attended by the head of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Colonel-General Saymumin Yatimov.
The commandant's office has all the conditions for carrying out the service of officers and soldiers guarding the borders of the country with Afghanistan, the head of the press center of the frontier troops of the State National Security Committee of Tajikistan, Mukhammad Ulugkhodzhaev, told AP on the phone from GBAO.
According to him, at the commandant's office built residential houses for officers and their families, barracks for soldiers, a library, a bath, a sports ground, parades, rest rooms, everyday life, weapons storage, boxes for military equipment.
Meanwhile, for the servicemen of the border checkpoint “Khargushi” located in Ishkashim district of GBAO The new modern building that meets the requirements of military service is also constructed and put into operation.
The "Khargushi" border outpost is considered to be the highest not only in Tajikistan, but also in Central Asia. It is located at an altitude of more than 4 thousand meters above sea level.
Over the past 10 years, Tajikistan has built more than 150 small and large outposts, mainly on the border with Afghanistan.
