Dushanbe. June 23. “Asia-Plus” -- Further introduction of tolling mechanism on Tajikistan’s roads may lead to unfavorable consequences, Tajik political analyst Hikmatullo Saifullozoda says.
He believes that the Government of Tajikistan has announced a series of controversial initiatives, including introduction of fees for the use of automobile roads. “Such unhealthy decisions in the time when Tajik people are in distress may deteriorate the situation. Such steps may stir social tensions in the Tajik society,” he said.
Recently, a group of experts from among representatives of related ministries and agencies of Tajikistan has found the concession agreement between Tajikistan and Innovative Road Solutions absolutely legal. Under this contract, IRS manages Dushanbe-Chanak toll road.
