Dushanbe. June 24. “Asia-Plus” -- I have never met Zhanysh Bakiev, Abdullo Nazarov, Head of the Tajik National Security Committee’s Office for GBAO, who is being accused by the ‘Bely Parus’ internet-newspaper of assisting a brother of the Kyrgyzstan’s ousted President in organization of disorders in south of Kyrgyzstan, told the AP.
In its recent publication issued one week ago and titled “Atamekens are distributing messages about “Tajik traces in the Kyrgyz tragedy”, this electronic edition accuses Abdullo Nazarov of involvement into mass disorders in southern part of Kyrgyzstan. In this material the edition asserts that information about whereabouts of Zhanysh Bakiev, Kurmanbek Bakiev’s brother, who is reported to stay in Tajikistan’s Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, has long ago leaked to the media.
According to the article’s author, Abdullo Nazarov, Head of the Tajik National Security Committee’s Office for GBAO, and simultaneously Bakiev’s business partner is giving shelter to Z.Bakiev. “Z.Bakiev met with Nazarov and offered a deal aiming to take vengeance on those who deprived him of his ‘dolce vita’. Bakiev urged him to hire some 200-300 gunmen to organize clashes in south of Kyrgyzstan and promised generous reward,” the edition says in its article.
“As security official I’ve repeatedly met with top Kyrgyz security officials in the frameworks of SCO, the Regional Counter-Terrorist Structure, and I’ve even chaired the Council of SCO’s RCTS and I’m still a full member of the given organization and I do know those guys. But I’ve never met Bakiev who headed Kyrgyz President’s Guards,” Nazarov said in his telephone conversation with the AP.
“They are trying to show me as a monster and they write that I fought in Afghanistan, but I have never been to Afghanistan. On the one hand, this is simply funny, but, on the other hand, I feel really sorry for those people who spend their time to write such tales. But I’m not going to go beyond their level and will not reply to these messages,” he said.
He believes that special services of this neighboring state have failed to get timely information about these disorders and failed to prevent clashes in which so many innocent people have been killed.
“This will remain on the conscience of those who is responsible for citizens’ security. Why they failed to evacuate citizens from these hot spots? And now they write such things just to justify themselves in the eyes of the international community and in the eyes of Uzbek and Kyrgyz people. Of course they will never acknowledge the fact that they have failed to provide security, prevent these events and failed to get preventive information on time. And now they are searching for someone to blame,” Nazarov has said.
At the same time, he is confident that ‘patrons’ of disgraced colonel Mahmud Hudoiberdiev are trying to defame him since Nazarov used to arrest Hudoiberdiev’s followers in Sughd area while being officer of the Tajik State National Security Committee’s Central Office.
“In the course of our work in Sughd area we have managed to arrest many of his [Hudoiberdiev’s] followers and uncover their terrorist plans. There were those involved in murder of Hakimsho Hafizov, the director of the Military Institute of the Tajik Defense Ministry, and Narzullo Ergashev, former Mayor of Tursunzade city. And, of course, they are trying to use any opportunity to defame us and force us stop investigating their crimes,” he added.
