KHOROG, June 22, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Prosecutor’s office in Rushan district, Gorno Badakhshan has dropped criminal proceedings instituted against Hokimsho Mirzoshoyev, head of electoral commission in one of jamoats (village community) in the district.
Hafasbek Dilshodov, chief prosecutor of Rushan district, says Mirzoshoyev faced charge of falsifying election documents. “His guilt has been proved, but taking into account his repentance, the prosecutor’s office has dropped criminal charges instituted against him,” the prosecutor said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Hokimsho Mirzoshoyev following an application by Khudonazar Mirzohayotov, who was the only candidate for a seat in local council in this constituency.
Local experts consider that the criminal case has been dropped because both plaintiff and defendant are members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
