KHUJAND, August 24, 2011, Asia-Plus -- 141 suicide cases have been reported in northern Tajikistan over the first seven months of this year, which is 66 cases fewer than in the same period last year, according to the Sughd police directorate.
The last suicide case was registered in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district on August 23. Mahmadtaib Idiyev, 25, from the village of Langar shot himself from hunting gun. Local prosecutor’s office has launched investigation into the incident.
The suicide situation is very serious in Sughd province and local experts say those committing suicide are mainly motivated by economic and family problems.
