Six residents of the Sughd province have spent money they have collected for performing the Hajj for charity actions, Suhrob Rustamzoda, the head of the Sughd department on religious affairs, told reporters in Khujand on August 2.

According to him, Ms. Mahtob Fozilova from the Metk village in the Devashtich district has sent 70,000 somoni for construction of a bridge connecting Metk and Hushekat villages.  “Another resident of this village, Mr. Mirzo Sharipov, has spent 33,000 somoni for improvement of local cemetery,” said Rustamzoda.  “Mr. Homid Qodirov from the village of Dahkat in the Devashtich district has spent 40,000 somoni for purchase of building materials for vulnerable families.”     

“Besides, Ms. Raihonpocho Okhounova from the village of Madrushkat in the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district has spent 55,000 somoni for repairing the village bridge,” said Rustamzoda.  “Mr. Saidmurod Saidov, from the Paldorak village in the Mastchoh district has spent money he has collected for performing the Hajj for repairing 700 meters of rural road.  Ms. Sofiya Hssanova from the Mastchoh district has spent 1.5 million somoni to provide assistance to needy peoples.”
