The first ever Flyboard Show is being held in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe.

On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, the flyboard show is being held at the Kuli Javonon (Youth Lake) Park on September 6, 7 and 8, from 5:00 pm to 8:0 pm, according to the Dushanbe mayor’s office.  Entrance is free.

Such a show is being held in Dushanbe for the first time, and according to the show organizers, Russian sportsmen have been invited to perform the show.

A Flyboard is a brand of hydroflighting device which supplies propulsion to drive the Flyboard into the air to perform a sport known as hydroflying.  A Flyboard rider stands on a board connected by a long hose to a watercraft.  Water is forced under pressure to a pair of boots with jet nozzles underneath which provide thrust for the rider to fly up to 15 meters in the air or to dive headlong through the water down to 2.5 meters.

The Flyboard was invented in autumn 2012 by a French water-craft rider, Franky Zapata.  The design allows the device to climb out of the water and be stable in the air.  This was achieved by the underfoot propulsion and hand stabilization.
